How long will YouTube survive?

Now that Google has removed almost all functions from YouTube and is trying to force the completely failed Google+ (the social media site that people who like social media don't like) on people instead of a replacement, how long will YouTube last before something else replaces it?

I give them a year based solely on what they do next. The day they make it a requirement to even use youtube however is the day youtube finally dies.

The only really problem I had with the old model was the 500 key limit for a comment. If they fix that I'm good

That's fixed, and we have decent comment threading now.

I just wish they'd integrate it with the YouTube interface, so that videos with new comments would show up in your Inbox like they always have. They're still doing that with PMs, but not comments.

I'm love-hate with them. I really don't like the fact that when you get a comment you can no longer go straight to the All Comments page.

I don't like that they took the link to the messages/inbox off the front page. Now, I can never remember where they moved it to, and I have to hunt it down each time.

It's the bell thingy in the upper right.

I had a Google+ account already, so I don't know, but does it make you get a Google+ account to post comments now?

yes and it's annoying because I don't5 want touse my real name for comments damnit!

Google+ is now required to leave comments.

Unfortunately for me, I don't have my account linked to it and because for some reason the script won't work to link my account, I'm stuck not being able to leave comments on even my own videos.

Needless to say it's completely ridiculous. Until I find a workaround or a fix for this, if they ever make Google+ mandatory to upload videos, my channel is completely fucked.

Not only that, but occasionally I'd like to comment on a video (or on a forum like bogosity) without all my casual acquaintances and work mates being notified of it.

Am I the only person here who likes the changes?

I've always wanted an excuse to use that image. ^_^

Hey, we can post links now! W00t!

OK, another point in the "win" column. It certainly isn't all good, but it isn't all bad, either.

But, the "in reply to" links are farked. Another point in the "fail" column...
