more things that are made illegal by the government
prohibition never worked and never will

does the government ever learn anything?

i don't know if this issue is recent or old
i don't watch TV or read the news :D

It's old. But it'll probably resurface again.

I hate government prohibition. I have to take a special card to the checkout counter and sign an agreement just to purchase my over-the-counter sinus medicine. I found out yesterday, when I went to pick up some after dropping my daughter off at school, that it has to be done by a PHARMACIST (or a pharmacy tech). So even though my sinuses were killing me, I couldn't get the medicine because the pharmacy hadn't opened.

That is funny because meth is still being made in the same quantities as before (I am just going on common sense, I have not checked meth production numbers). Now people just do what they did with matches, they get some friends and "co workers" to go get some even when they don't need it.

I honestly don't understand the online gambling ban. I could understand if it's illegal to gamble in certain parts of the world, or certain states... but to ban me from gambling online?

If I can do it in real life, face to face... then why shouldn't I be able to gamble online? Like... what exactly is it hurting? Who's being hurt by it?

The only thing I can see is that people are getting rich off it from the comfort of their own homes... by playing things like Poker online. What? Are they afraid america is going to turn into a bunch of fat lazy gamblers who never go to work and make their money off of online blackjack?

If someone can explain it to me, please do... But I don't think the governement was very smart on this one.

Why couldn't they have slapped a tax on online gambling? Any business or website would be forced to take a certain tax % out of a person's winnings. Think of the amount of extra money the governement could rake in!

But instead, they start taxing online teen games... like World of Warcraft.

(No joke, I play WoW and I get charged, I think it's 5% tax, on my 14.99 subscription.) Or at least, I used to. Not sure if they're still doing it, their billing page isn't exactly the most clear and easy to comprehend when it comes to showing the tax.

ALL consensual crimes are bogosity.

Here's a very good book on the subject: http://www.mcwilliams.com/books/books/aint/

Ironically, the author himself died as a result of bogus consensual crimes (in his case, the Federal government taking his medical marijuana).

apparently meth production in the USA has dropped

but what a surprise. people just get it from Mexico and even Canada. supply hasn't really dropped
