Idiot Extraordinaire: Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/17/jesse-jackson-jr-ipad-unemployment_n_850227.html

This Week's Quote: "Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedies." —Groucho Marx

Jackson's worried about publishing companies?  Good riddance I say.  They're outdated dynasties just like pretty much everything politicians try to "preserve."

Regulatory burden is now higher than corporate profits?  Wow...and people try and argue with me that the US doesn't have enough.
I recently heard that the word heretic is derived from the greek work heriticos which means "able to choose"
The more you know...

It's been higher for like 10 years or so, maybe more.

Thanks.  I really needed this tonight.

Would your comment regarding war and lies apply to the Revolutionary War as well?

OK, Rep Jesse Jackson Jr. is a fucktard.  Seriously, if I got an iPad instead of textbooks (thereby saving money, and my arms), I'd be the happiest student on campus!  What a douchebag!  Also, if he's worried about them finding other jobs, then why isn't he against all the barriers to entry, regulations and other nonsense we have in the USA?
That would make the transition from non-productive jobs to productive ones far easier.

Probably, although I'm not aware of any.

Oh gee, false pretenses and misinformation to lead us into a war situation? What a shock!

Seriously though, this isn't a surprise but people will still make excuses.

I think I'll bring this up the next time someone argues that Obama isn't as bad as/a carbon copy of George Bush.

But Virgil, Obama isn't a carbon copy of Bush.  He's Bush on steroids.

Pardon my cynicism as far as the text books go, but I think a "textbookless" campus would result in higher text book prices for a lot of college students. Colleges have been trying for years to undercut the used book business and making it so that all of the books are digital would be a great way to do that.
