Yes, that was made of pure win. ;D

Here's an article from Cracked.com that was actually pretty good: 3 Reasons the "Ground Zero Mosque" Debate Makes No Sense

Wow. I never thought I'd love something posted to Cracked.com.

1. I'm told that the governor offered to help them find a different location to avoid all this unpleasantness and they wouldn't even discuss it.  This is just really one of those "How do you think this looks?" situations.

2. Name me one church that couldn't also be called a community center.  A rose by any other name...

3. If there's someone trying to stop the project by force, I have yet to hear of them.  All I've seen is people saying that they find the project to be in poor taste which IS their right, no two ways about it.  Heck, there's even muslims who have criticized it, calling it needlessly provocative which I certainly agree on.
I recently heard that the word heretic is derived from the greek work heriticos which means "able to choose"
The more you know...

1. Why should they?

2. Name me one church that has separate prayer space for Muslims, Christians, and Jews.

3. You haven't been watching Fox News. With the exception of John Stossel and Judge Napolitano (and Bill O'Reilly when he has either of them opposite him), pretty much everyone else there has said they shouldn't be allowed to build. Besides, anyone who calls it provocative not only does not understand what the purpose of Cordoba House is, but has missed the point of it completely!

Indeed.

Anyways, back on topic.

'98 Homosexual-Recruitment Drive Nearing Goal
I simply HAD to include that one.
The reason?
According to The Onion's Wikipedia entry, the above article was once used as evidence of the gay agenda by Fred Phelps.

PS: Congrats on your 1234th post Shane. :P

I'm just sick and tired of religion crying "tolerance" because it always works only one way with them.  Religion has made it very clear that it's about intolerance and nothing but.

I challenge you to show how the Cordoba Initiative is in any way about intolerance.

Well, there's that 40 Megaton Nucular device that they plan to install in their basement for starters.

Naw, that's mine. I had it federally funded with an earmark I got latched onto the bill with no name. I had a really hard time getting it passed under the 'Doctor Doom Plot to Destroy Superman Act of _________________'.

That's beause the two arent on the same universe.
Now, if you had called it "The Lex Luthor Plan to Destroy Superman", like I did, you'd had your very own Anti-Matter Death Ray installed on the moon by now.

Oh, THAT'S what that thing obstructing the view from my vacation house is! Dammit...

Y'know, I tried that one too, and I still couldn't get it through. I guess there weren't as many DC fans as Marvel fans in the senate at the time I tried it.

Oh, no. That's James Cameron's ego. Damn thing fills up about 4 separate zip codes now. The 'Terminator/Terminator 2' district and the 'Aliens' district are petitioning the Ego Council to limit the number of representatives allotted to the 'Avatar' and 'Titanic' district, claiming that their higher grosses mean that they have a far greater influence over future decisions related to ego growth than smaller contributers, while the smaller contributers have actually been better movies.

If the building is everything they claim, probably isn't.  I meant religion itself is fundamentally all about intolerance.  Their holy books all state this very clearly.  Not all of them believe that?  Well really, if you don't agree with the holy books which are supposed to be the words of an all knowing deity, maybe you ought to rethink why you bear the label of someone who does.  ("you" in the general sense here)
