Are there any GOOD arguments against separation of church and state?

So I'm working on #9 in my Constitution lecture series, an often-requested one about the separation of church and state. Of course, I want to include arguments from the other side for examination. Unfortunately, they all seem to be along these lines:

They dismiss the Jefferson letter explaining the meaning of the words, saying it's not an official government document. Yet, they only use government documents and acts of Congress that predate the constitution! (And that's just a fraction of the stupidity that's there.)

I know the argument is bogus, but SURELY there are some arguments that are better than that? Anyone know of any?

Why do you need the argument of the other side on this issue, seriously? I know you want to be fair, but do we really need to listen to the arguments of people who believe that a magic wizard created the earth and now we need to rule it by his laws, otherwise he will send us to Mordor with his magic staff?

A good argument for this simply doesn't exit. Which makes it THAT FUCKING STUPID!

People need to be armed with the information they need to oppose these people when they come across them.

Here's good information on our side of it:  http://wiki.ironchariots.org/index.php?title=America_is_a_Christian_nation#Separation_of_church_and_state

I recall the argument regarding Tripoli being that it was just to appease the Muslims; it wasn't meant to make our government secular or something like that.

Well, the Anarchists always say that Government is based on similar superstitions to that of Religion, often giving secular men "messiah" or "prophet" status.  Even Fringe Elements likes to call it "Godverment", not "Government" on occasion.

What's the difference between a theistic state and a secular one if they both operate in the realm of magical thinking and superstition, and seem to be just as prone to oppression and tyranny?  A secular government MUST be devoid of any magical thinking and superstition if it is to be argued for as better than religious based government, and it must demonstrate superior results for maximal freedom and Liberty, too.

There are great arguments, if you happen to be in the majority and you don't care about the rights of others.  If you're a civil libertarian however, there isn't a single one.

I dunno, I keep looking at them and wondering how you can buy into them even if you already agree with their conclusions!

Because you'll face eternal hellfire if you don't?
Good arguments, not stupid ones. :P

It sounds good when I make the neighbors children cry with it.
