A speaker at my chapel today (i have to go there for college credit), in between bible verses and prayers, told us about the facts about sex trafficking. She cited porn as being the cause of sex trafficking and called for the same law that banned porn in Britain to be done here. I wanted to know what you guys thought.

Ask her to make her case. How does porn result in sex trafficking? The burden of proof is on her, not us. NEVER let people get away with that.

Isn't prostitution being illegal the one of the main cause of human trafficking? at least here in the US.

What the hell kind of college do you go to where you have to attend a church to get credit?

As other people have stated, she's got the burden of proof.

This vid sums it up nicely and it's only a few minutes long.
I recently heard that the word heretic is derived from the greek work heriticos which means "able to choose"
The more you know...

This feminist tries to make the case that porn is the reason sex trafficking happens.  She doesn't do a very good job, though her presentation is interesting.  Ultimately, she fails to connect the dots while giving a presentation on how horrible online pornography is to the women who perform in it, insisting that they are sex slaves without any real proof or evidence.  If you check out the top comments, she's got some really good criticism going against her.

BTW, her name is Dr. Gail Dines, and she's one of the people spearheading the ban on pornography around the world.  I get the feeling she's one of the people behind the ban on porn in

Wikipedia has a great cricitism section on her, too:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gail_Dines

And from her own blog, she appears to be one of the key people behind the pornography ban in Iceland.

Perhaps she would make a good Idiot Extraordinaire candidate.

It's sometimes difficult for me to remember that in much of the Western world, this sort of Feminist is still a major problem for anyone interested in human rights.  They largely fell into obscurity here in Canada when the National Action Council on the Status of Women imploded after declaring disinterest in any problems straight, white women might happen to have.

It seem to me that liberals in general are turning into puritans, justvreplace the spiritual woo with political. Whether it be this bimbo, or bloomberg banning soda cups while being a fatass himself.
