Idiot Extraordinaire: The Republican Party http://www.examiner.com/article/gop-glad-to-rid-themselves-of-ron-paul-supporters-the-move-to-libertarian-party
This Week's Quote: "Every man takes care that his neighbor shall not cheat him. But a day comes when he begins to care that he does not cheat his neighbor. Then all goes well. He has changed his marketcare into a chariot of the sun." —Ralph Waldo Emerson

I'll repeat what I said on Facebook about the Republican National Convention:
"The GOP is blatantly corrupt. They cheated to get the candidate they wanted. Why any liberty-minded person believes there is anything to salvage from this crooked group of criminals is completely beyond me."

What's amazing to me is, Romney was pretty much a shoo-in. To be in that good a position and STILL think you have to cheat to win? That's some deep-rooted psychopathy there...

But is anyone even remotely shocked by this? The man couldn't be trusted as far as you could throw him considering he constantly flip flopped on positions at the drop of a dime. He's always been dishonest, so the fact that he blatantly cheated, despite not needing to, should come as absolutely no surprise to anyone who has been paying attention.

Can we add Bureaucrats writing stupid laws to that?

well, let's "celebrate" the actions and deeds of the news media, the GOP, and similar people:

always describes these people wonderfully.

Revise that. Bureaucrats will write laws with stupid parts in them.

After the official vote CBC Radio 1 news mentioned that the vote had been unanimous...by the expedient of not actually counting any of the votes for Ron Paul.

The shenanigans at the RNC make sense to me if you think of Romney as a robot. I certainly do (in the metaphorical sense, of course), hence why I have dubbed him: "The RomneyBot 9000, able to run both republican and democractic party software modules."

In all seriousness, Romney for republican president makes sense for the GOP, since they want someone they can control, someone whom they can get to support and do whatever they desire. They couldn't let Paul challenge him, because Paul would want to do things his own way, thus would be working against the GOP elite.

One thing that bothers me with this entire affair is that libertarian minded republicans still want to work within the republican party, at this point, an organisation with VERY questionable morals, methods, and ethics. It would be like peacenics working within an ethnic criminal syndicate to reform it to an upstanding civic organisation. At this point, there is very little hope for either the republican or the democratic party (and any other 1-2-3 majority party government out there), as they can not and will not last in their current forms.
