It sounds like a plot dreamed up by the creators of South Park, but it's all true: schoolchildren in Louisiana are to be taught that the Loch Ness monster is real in a bid by religious educators to disprove Darwin's theory of evolution.


Thousands of children in the southern state will receive publicly-funded vouchers for the next school year to attend private schools where Scotland's most famous mythological beast will be taught as a real living creature.

These private schools follow a fundamentalist curriculum including the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) programme to teach controversial religious beliefs aimed at disproving evolution and proving creationism.

Yeah, I'd say that's worthy of IE.

it's moments like this I wish I had the mythical "Stalin marker". It's where you have a picture of your target, and with the magic marker, delete the image of the person in the photo, and with it, the target--to be banished to an alternate dimension or sth, like the recycling bin on a computer (killing them means less lulz). It's called the "Stalin marker", after a custom of Stalin's where he'd have his enemies erased from every official photograph. difference was, the targets were already dead, having been executed by the NKVD, but I digress.

Should such a marker be made, I'd like to target a few people, aside from the Accelerated Christian learning people: The US government, the bank I owe the student loans to (taken against my will), the people at the legislature of Colorado, Paul Krugman, anyone who likes Stalin (might as well), my immediate family (Dad and Sister aside--grandparents don't count), the people who didn't give me a grad student position, that one structural geology professor,  and so on.

actually, on second thought, maybe a paranoid person like with a tendency to hold grudges (e.g., me) being unable to get such a marker is a good thing.[/spoiler]

for the record, I am (obviously) not a fan of Stalin.
