Halloween events are "too scary"

I can't find a clip online right now, but here is the jist of it. The local zoo runs an annual Halloween event which serves at the main "Family" Halloween event in the city.

This year, they added several areas that were more on par with major Haunted House attractions in the area in order to attract more guests. They made signs in front of these areas saying "Not suitable for children under 12" and having a separate logo for these attractions.

Yet parents still took young kids into these areas and now they're blaming the zoo.  On par with suing McDonalds because their coffee is hot or what?

To me it is the same as someone buying their kid a copy of Grand Theft Auto, and even though the GameStop employee mentions that it isn't suitable for people under he age of 17.  Parent buys it, see kid play it, returns it and complains about he content.

To the parent generation of today, you know why kids don't respect you?  It's because you have utterly no respect for them!
I liked Don Bluth's philosophy in movies.  "Kids can handle anything just as long as you give them a happy ending."
