So the government now knows what you paid for a car

Little gem for everyone

6 months ago I bought a used car, did the whole tax and title deal, and figured that was that. Until I got a letter in the mail informing me since my "Purchase Price" was less than 2/3rds the Blue Book value, the state says that I must've given a fabricated price. It then informed me they recalculated my taxes based on Blue Book value and said I had 30 days to pay the extra taxes. Needless to say this should end up being a fun round in court.

Guilty until Proven Innocent again.

It's just a ploy for more taxes. Our wonderful Republican County Commissioners just--AGAIN--revalued homes to be worth FAR more than they were before, despite home values dropping like a brick from the Eiffel Tower, just so they could collect more tax revenues without raising the tax rate.
