In light of Jacob Spinney's video on welfare http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwTDKt_k9kQ , I find myself curious to know how universal health care measures up.

Ie: Out of all the money the public is taxed for healthcare, how much of it actually goes towards helping sick and injured people?
I recently heard that the word heretic is derived from the greek work heriticos which means "able to choose"
The more you know...

I've been wondering the same things. I thought I could have a play with WolframAlpha to see if I could get a general idea.  But unfortunately I don't really know enough about statistics to have an educated guess at the moment.

PricewaterhouseCoopers may have good information on that. I'd look myself, but my internet connection is flaky today.
