This Week's Quote: "Killing innocent people in retaliation for the sins of other people isn't justice—it is terrorism. The terrorists were wrong to kill Americans to satisfy their grievances against American foreign policy. And to react to them by killing innocent foreigners would also be terrorism." —Harry Browne

The War of 1812 was from 1812 to 1814 (although the Battle of New Orleans is considered to be part of that war and took place in early 1815, because the peace treaty was negotiated in London, England in the late fall/early winter when it wasn't possible to get word to North America).

How long WWII lasted depends on what you consider to be the start of the war.  If you grew up in China, Taiwan, or Japan, you probably consider it to have begun in 1931 when Japan invaded Manchuria.  If you grew up in the Horn of Africa, you may consider it to have begun in 1935 when Italy invaded Abyssinia.   If you grew up in most parts of Europe or the British Commonwealth of Nations, you probably consider it to have begun in 1939 when Germany and the USSR jointly invaded Poland.

Oh, shit! Blake Pettys! :D Was wondering if/when he'd be on the podcast. :)
"When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world—'No. You move.'"
