That bit about the honor killings reminds me of a big ongoing story in my own local papers concerning the elderly.  How some care homes and hospitals haven't been treating them properly and lots of other rather nasty stories.

This regular editorial writer wrote his opinion on it, he claimed this was a symptom that ageism is still alive and well and that the young see the elderly as a burden and all this sort of thing.

So let me get this straight, GOVERNMENT run healthcare isn't treating the eldery properly, GOVERNMENT run care homes aren't doing their job properly...

Plus, I cannot stress this enough, how many politicians under 30 or even under 40 can you name off hand?

Yet...somehow this is all the fault of young people discriminating?  Wow!  Could not have missed the target any worse if you tried there buddy!


Talking about all this because I know exactly what the reaction to the honor killing travesty is going to be.  Everyone's gonna say it's because the population are racist jerks and the state who's job it was to prevent it and didn't is going to get a free pass as always.
