Title: New particle?
Post by: MrBogosity on May 25, 2011, 08:07:31 PM
I've been noticing more and more a tendency for woos of all types to cluster together. This is driven home to me again in yet another story about pertussis happening in towns where there are a lot of anti-vaccers. There really does seem to be an attractive force that binds woos together and makes them cluster--religious fundamentalism, homeopathy, anti-vaccination, and it really leads me to believe that they are bound together by an unseen force in the universe, which mean there is yet another particle of bogosity.

I'm calling it the "crazy gluon."

You noticed that too, huh?  One of the many reasons I get a bit uneasy when I see the amount of conspiracy bullshit (e.g. population control) bullshit I see Stef tolerate on his forum.

What's that old saying? Birds of a feather flock together? That sums it up nicely.

People of weak morals cannot co-exist with people of strong morals because they need people who will support their delusions and strong moraled people simply won't do that.

An example given is that a woman who maintains a relationship with her abusive father won't marry a man of strong morals because he'll openly question her and she can't handle that.

Like our good friend James Randi said "They don't just want it to be true, they need it to be true and when you question it, you're threatening them."

You got that from Stef's "Real Time Relationships", didn't you?
