Title: Libertarian Party affiliate logo

Hey guys, I've been charged with creating a logo for the local LP affiliate. This is what I've come up with, would appreciate some feedback

The font's not doing it for me for some reason. Other than that, good design.

Yeah, I've been messing around and can't find a good match for the "LP" font. Do you have any suggestions?

Why try to match theirs? Just find one that looks good.

By the way, while we're on the subject of LP logos, is the LP of North Carolina's logo really the Liberty Penguin?

We've officially adopted the Liberty Penguin, but for years our official logo has been the Statue of Liberty's crown. I think that's changing, though, not sure to what.
