Well, I finally broke down and got Cydia for my iphone. Now I can actually play flash plugins on my iphone... to a certain extent. Oh, well. I like the new stuff I've been able to find, including a Morrigan theme, irritating soundboards, and I'm also thinking about looking for a skype app.
However, one thing worries me- Apparently, Apple is trying to get those who make software to 'jailbreak' one's iphone in trouble under the DMCA. Apparently, jailbreaking the iphone requires modifying the OS, which violates apple's copyright. Or something like that. Smells like more corporate bullshit to me.
What do you think?
Well, can they do anything to YOU with a DMCA like this? And isn't the 'NO Flash, LOL WUT?" nothing more than a trick to make you buy their apps, instead of playing free flash games online?
Yes, they can do it to YOU. The DMCA makes it illegal to bypass ANY copy protection mechanism, REGARDLESS of whether it's for personal use, fair use, or whatever. One more reason why it's completely evil.

Does this mean that this topic could be used against me in a court of law if the combined forces of Mozilla, Skype and Cydia aren't enough to convince the gov to add jailbreaking iphones as an exception to the DMCA?
What's Apple's problem anyway? Most companies don't care what you do with their stuff once you buy it.
They've always been control freaks. I don't really understand why, but in my opinion it's what kept them from dominating over Windows.

I'm starting to feel quite a bit less sorry for Apple for losing out to Bill Gates. If they were this stuck up back then, it's no wonder they lost out.
On the negative side, no matter what tricks I pull, I still can't get koostube and youporn to work on my iphone. Dammit. :'(

Ya know the worst part about it? I can't find where to buy one online. Well, I think I found a place, but I'm not sure.
By the way, to get the best configuration, it costs about $250. That's more than 130, but still better than the $800 charged by apple. I'm starting to wonder whether or not I paid too much for my iphone. I probably did.
Well, I thought about starting a new topic, but I thought this topic did just fine. Now I'm considering jailbreaking my PS3. I have little reason to as of now (considering that I can't use it as a potential gaming PC as of yet, which is a possibility I'd like to explore once it becomes possible), but because of the way Sony has reacted to the publishing of the root code for the PS3.
