Title: World's Smallest Political Quiz, Randomized
Post by: MrBogosity on March 02, 2010, 06:13:35 PM
As most of you know, I'm a big fan of the World's Smallest Political Quiz. One criticism some people have levied against the quiz is that the use of "Yes" to refer solely to the Libertarian position introduces a bias; another is that the user knowing which questions are in the Personal category and which are Economic could bias their answers as well, even unconsciously.

I've written a script to appeal to those critics. (http://www.shanekillian.org/quiz.php) I've taken each of the questions and written a negative counterpart. My script randomizes both the order of the questions and which form of the question is presented; sometimes a Yes will mean more liberty, other times it will mean more government.

So if you've taken the quiz before and thought it was biased, try this form—and see if it gives you the same result.

And if it does, consider that it just might be accurate.

I scored 100 economic and 80 on personal, but only because I am tired and misread one of the questions. :P
Upon rereading it, I got double 100's again. :P

Which one did you misread? The negative questions are just ones I wrote and they may need to be made more clear.

The one about the military draft.

But... without the ability to throw unconsenting soldiers at a given problem, Hitler will return, and the south will rise again, and Jeffery Dahlmer will go back to eating babies!

*phew*

This new legal pot stuff is strong!

The one about the military draft.

"Government should have the power to draft citizens into the military when needed."

I don't really see any way to word that any clearer.

That's cool. I was just making sure it wasn't a flaw in what I'd written.
