In one part of the podcast, you speculated that Microsoft probably had NSA backdoors. Although in the past that was true, Microsoft is on record as saying that it will no longer co-operate in warrantless violations of it's customers privacy.

Yeah, they say that, but then there's what actually happens when they get a National Security Letter...I'm not doubting their sincerity, but the NSA can put a LOT of pressure on them.

As my name should suggest I have lived in and around the Dallas area my whole life*, this is the first I've ever heard of their community-oriented policing.  The last major news I've heard about them was that infamous drug scandal when they were ensnaring hapless alien Mexicans using flour as cocaine.  Nice to see some good news for a change.

*I actually lived outside Dallas County (the county Dallas is in) most of my life, got K-12 in Plano (Collin County) and now I'm going to the UT Arlington (Tarrant County).  My family moved from Dallas after I turned 5.

The UK also demonstrates how worthless police crackdowns and extensive surveillance is.  ALL streets and roadways in the UK are under 24/7 police surveillance, and police in the UK have the legal authority to stop, question and search anyone at any time.  The violent crime rate in the UK is four times what it is in the US, and that's before you consider the possibility that the UK might actually be reporting their clearance rate rather than their crime rate.
