Title: Anyone familiar with fraps?

I've always used fraps to record game footage but these days, for some reason I can't get it to work properly. I turn on fraps and the framerate gets so bad the game is unplayable. (one of the reasons I haven't done vids recently)

Same games, nothing has really changed about this computer so I really don't know what's going wrong. Anyone have advice?

I don't know much about FRAPS, but this might help.

I noticed that the next content patch for WoW is coming up shortly. The download for that seems to have done in my framerate in some circumstances.

Nah, this has been a problem for a while. Started back when I was trying to record for those Super Skyrim Bros vids.
