It doesn't seem to have the "over 9000 fallacy", at least not under that name.
The basic problem is using a large number of anecdotal examples (which are, inherently, subject to cherry picking) to try and cast doubt on a statistical result that says that the overall population has a much larger incidence of the opposite phenomenon from the anecdotes. Essentially, it's the exact reasoning error good statistics are used to prevent.
