That might be nice for the bigger events, but the smaller promotions of MMA or the independent circuits of pro wrestling are basically out of a job now.
you know, in times of economic recession, it's usually the standard procedure to foster job creation-including those in "combative sports". this typically should be done by government staying out of the economy, since they largely don't know what the fuck they are doing.
unless of course, there is some new economic method of ameliorating the recession I'm not aware of, that calls for destroying jobs.
and seriously, what next? one can argue American Football, rugby, and Hockey should be classified as such: lots of collisions, confrontations, and stylized use of force-and people are just as, if not more, likely, to die in them than MMA and wrestling, or even Boxing. maybe we ought to ban the sport of kings while we're at it? though banning that sport that would be an improvement.

There's a bigger picture here too other than just the banned sports/pro wrestling itself. It's the fact that the reason the state banned them is because UFC is suing them for a 4% tax that Oklahoma has on any pay-per-view events.
Yeah I'm glad I don't live in Oklahoma. I'm just happy their stupidity means more fights for me.
