Title: Corporatism and the Entertainment Industry

Nice to see the MPAA dictating our foreign policy towards Sweden and Spain and getting the U.S. to abduct people from New Zealand didn't come cheap. http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20120216/14555317783/mpaa-hires-four-ex-federal-government-employees-including-one-ice-another-white-house.shtml (http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20120216/14555317783/mpaa-hires-four-ex-federal-government-employees-including-one-ice-another-white-house.shtml)

This explains how the MPAA was able to use ICE as its own private police force.

And since the selling of used video games was a topic on these forums, this shows an attack on the First Sales Doctrine. The ability to sell a physical copyrighted work as long as you purchased it legally. There are a lot of ludicrous implications if the First Sales Doctrine goes out the window. http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20120224/03083617862/how-us-trade-rep-is-trying-to-wipe-out-used-goods-sales-with-secretive-tpp-agreement.shtml (http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20120224/03083617862/how-us-trade-rep-is-trying-to-wipe-out-used-goods-sales-with-secretive-tpp-agreement.shtml)
