With all due respect, isn't that how pretty much all congressmen from the two major parties think and act?
Also, with regards to Mr Smith, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere (probably ars technica) that he thinks that the technical experts (who warned that SOPA would weaken the security infrastructure of the internet) are
wrong and that
he knows better than them about the security of the internet
