Title: Oppose SOPA? Well apparently you don't matter.

http://www.digitaltrends.com/opinion/sopa-sponsor-rep-lamar-smith-to-sopa-opponents-you-dont-matter/

Lamar Smith says and I quote "The criticism of this bill is completely hypothetical; none of it is based in reality. Not one of the critics was able to point to any language in the bill that would in any way harm the Internet. Their accusations are simply not supported by any facts,"

If this doesn't qualify him for Biggest Bogon Emitter, I don't know what does.

This is what happens when old, out of touch politicians try to legislate the internet

Worse than that, it's his attitude. "You people don't matter; only my corporate cronies do."

With all due respect, isn't that how pretty much all congressmen from the two major parties think and act?

Also, with regards to Mr Smith, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere (probably ars technica) that he thinks that the technical experts (who warned that SOPA would weaken the security infrastructure of the internet) are wrong and that he knows better than them about the security of the internet

Yes, but most of them aren't arrogant enough to actually come out and SAY it!
