Whether you love or loathe the occupy movement, I thought this was a great satire of modern U.S. policing. Casually pepper spray everything cop.

I don't find it funny; though I don't mind satire of this sort (esp. as it is well aimed), I can't find it a laughing matter that the Cops in New York and elsewhere are violating the Oath they took to uphold the constitution, and committing violence on a generally peaceful group of protestors. the fact that some of them may have tried to storm into wall street doesn't excuse what they did to the protestors in general.
A few years back we had an incident (IIRC, it was at a G8 or G20 summit out in British Columbia) where a Mountie got REALLY carrier away with his big-ass can of pepper spray. Actually, not so much a CAN, as a hand-held liquid sprayer. The news footage ended with the scene entirely blocked by the liquid on the lens. (The RCMP has been, for the last several years, been doing things that make them look like a load of total amateurs, and this shows no signs of letting up any time soon. The most recent thing to come to general attention is that they can't seem to do any better at dealing with sexual harassment of the female officers by the male ones than the Catholic Church seems to be at dealing with pedophile priests.)

The satire is funny, the situation is not. Kind of like laughing at Charlie Chaplin making fun of Hitler. Casual pepper spray cop was from UC Davis.

That sucks in Aurora, outside of Denver, our DARE program can't seem to do any better at dealing with pedophile police officers than the Catholic Church is at dealing with pedophile priests.
Product reviews for the can of pepper spray.

DARE programs seem to be chronically unable to deal with ANYTHING, including anything that might reduce drug use.

don't areas that have that usually end up with a higher level of drug use than other places? I remember someone here saying something to that effect.

It might well have been Shane, I know he pointed out that little problem in the Bogosity episode about the War On (some) Drugs.
The problem is pretty basic: You lie to children about things they can verify, and that makes them not trust you about anything, just like it does anyone else.

Nope, and in Aurora they served the function of allowing Pedophiles with badges into our Public Schools.

him? I read it in a newspaper here in Fort Collins. they didn't mention anything about his relationship to the war on drugs. though it is most unsettling that such a person is allowed into places that are stocked-full of children. the question I had since reading this is: how long has he been doing this? there may be dozens of victims involved.
speaking of Drugs: did you hear about the new law here in Fort Collins? they've ordered all Marijuana distilleries shut down, and medical marijuana distribution in the town banned.
Is there any evidence of a cover-up of this stuff?

No evidence of a cover-up so far.
