Then get a lawyer. They're in violation of 17 USC § 512(g)(2)(B).

(And it's actually 14 business days, my mistake.)

According to Youtube's policy, it's 14 days after the counter claim is processed, not filed. I guess that is their way to sit on their asses longer.

It doesn't MATTER what their policy says! It only matters what the LAW says!

Quote from: 17 USC § 512(g)(2)(C)replaces the removed material and ceases disabling access to it not less than 10, nor more than 14, business days following receipt of the counter notice, unless its designated agent first receives notice from the person who submitted the notification under subsection (c)(1)(C) that such person has filed an action seeking a court order to restrain the subscriber from engaging in infringing activity relating to the material on the service provider's system or network.

(Emphasis mine--and sorry again, I wrote 512(g)(2)(B) above when it should have been 512(g)(2)(C).)

Following the RECEIPT--NOT the processing, NOT when they get around to it, NOT when someone finally deigns to check their e-mail, but RECEIPT.

what do you think is gunna happen if he does something Shane?

Now get this: they denied me revenue sharing for the Lee Wrights videos I made on the following basis:

QuoteYou have not provided adequate documentation that you have the necessary rights to commercially use all the video material and music

Apparently the fact that I SHOT, PRODUCED AND EDITED EVERY SINGLE FRAME OF THE VIDEOS isn't good enough for them! And then there's this:

QuoteAdvertisers on YouTube are currently looking to advertise next to family safe content

So, stopping all war ISN'T family-safe? That our children shouldn't have to grow up knowing nothing but war ISN'T family-safe???

I'll never understand YouTube...

Obviously you don't know what family friendly is, THIS is family friendly

Odd, they let me upload videos over 10 minutes long.  I didn't even ask for it.
I recently heard that the word heretic is derived from the greek work heriticos which means "able to choose"
The more you know...

Yeah, just about everyone can now. Last year, they gave everyone up to 15 minutes, but now more and more people who aren't partners have been given infinite time for videos.

I've been able to upload for infinite time now since at least the past month or so. The only limitation is 2gb file size.

They changed it. Now it's 15 minutes, and for some reason they decided to let me upload longer ones.

I'm going to try to get the HD versions of eps 7-9 up at some point.

Yeah, for most people now, it is infinite time. I think the only way you still have the 15 minute time limit is if your account has some serious copyright infringement on it. I'm not exactly sure though, considering I couldn't go longer than 15 minutes for a while, yet others who weren't partners were perfectly capable of uploading videos as long as they wanted.

And here's YouTube Support's response:

QuoteYou have not provided adequate documentation that you have the necessary rights to commercially use all the video material

I produced every frame of the videos! What documentation could they possibly need? Documentation from myself giving myself permission to use my own material?

And their answer to the above question:

QuoteI am unable to offer you legal advice on what constitutes copyright, but please feel free to refer to our Copyright Tips page at http://www.youtube.com/t/howto_copyright

Are they just screwing with me now?

As if I needed yet ANOTHER reason to be against IP...

Hey, it works for taxes.
