Out of boredom, and partly inspired by my new fad of the week, have you ever dismissed a story (book, movie, video game, etc), only to later find that you thoroughly enjoyed it?

After finally listening to a few recommendations, I played my way through the Legacy Kain series (A.k.a. Blood Omen, Soul Reaver). While the gameplay wasn't very good compared to other games, the story, voice acting, and writing were all very good. It's one of my favorite stories now. I'd recommend anybody at least watch a 'let's play' of it.

At first I thought you were going to say that Twilight was win. :P

Actually it tended to happend to me quiet frequently, vice versa too. Going into a story thinking I'd like it only to discover it's about as enjoyable as eating shit out of a bucket made from exrements.

I remember seeing the previews for The Iron Giant and thinking how stupid it was. When I saw it, it was one of the best movies ever. There have been a few others like that, but none that stand out as much. TIG is just awesome.
