Dave Jones just rented a new place to do his vlog from:

[yt]KiEMSkVTHmQ[/yt]

It's the former headquarters building of his former employer, which has sat empty for the last 4 years (basically, since the time they laid him off, IIRC).

Keep in mind he's making his living off of YouTube, Patreon, and his web site ad revenues, and he's able to rent a 43000 square foot office building, just for his vlog space.  He's not one of the guys making millions, although he's apparently pretty comfy.

Damn, I need to get in on this: I could buy a house for less than 1,000 bucks if this is the case... :P

Australia is hard to emigrate to, and the city government in Sydney is doing a lot of stupid things that are making people leave.

In any case, you can't extrapolate from custom-built commercial space in a less than ideal location to residential space.

I know: you didn't think I was serious, did you? :P

(yeah, they're way too puritanical there...)

Which, coming from a guy who grew up in Kuwait, is saying something.

Now, however, I'm wondering if the video above is his April Fools video, or if this one is:

[yt]8Ur9gM4DRdA[/yt]

or if he didn't do one this year after all.

While the first one is listed as being uploaded on March 31 and this one on April 1, given that he's in Australia he might have set it to be available April 1 there, which could show up as March 31 here in North America, depending on the time of day.

Even kuwait had things resembling night clubs and establishments...and they weren't always dry in practice either (which tells you how effective prohibition is there).

Besides: I grew up there, but I'm more levantine than anything (and levantines don't have a reputation for puritanism...)
