I know for a fact that people are quick to bash them for that even when they are not litteraly defending having sex with non pubescent youngs. Not saying I ever saw them do that, just mentioning it for the sake of the argument. I remember people all around the internet throwing a tantrum because they published an article written by a pedophile who denied ever engaging in pedophilia and just wanted to tell how having this particular sexuality felt difficult to live. I mean I can't begin to describe how juvenile some people were about it. The mere fact that this guy would just present himself as a pedophile was too much to bear apparently.

So, Salon prints stupid things but people aren't too keen on giving them any slack either, even when they are not doing anything particularly egregious.
