He basically repeats the Michael Lind from Saloon's line of say that Libertarianism is stupid because it's never been tried before.
He also tries refute what we say about labor unions by simply quoting Thomas Dilorenzo and Ludwig von Mises's objections. He says that we would just remain silent if child labor began to be be legal and practiced again (I think that might be a problem with he poverty in a country, say for example Haiti, not necessarily the "greed" of the businessman. Hmm? Maybe that MIGHT have something to do with it; if that wasn't true, how would child labor rates ever DECREASE or almost EVAPORATE.)
Don't know exactly when it was written, but it appeared in my google news feed as new, so it probably is.
Quote:  it's the philosophy of a snotty teen, someone who's read too much Heinlein, absorbed the sordid notion that an intellectual elite should rule the subhuman masses, and convinced himself that reading a few bad novels qualifies him as a member of the elite.
Make of that what u will, but I think not only is this ad hominem, it's a perfect way of dismissing an argument that differs in ideology than the one who's writing.

I don't know, maybe this shouldn't surprise me anymore, but wow, I just can't believe what I read in the first section "un-communism".

The left column is almost a litteral transcription of communists ideas, slightly exaggerated with the baby eating. I don't know the state of communist activism and political endeavours in the US, but as I am living in a european country, it happens that the communists are present at every single election, and because of that, I know very well how people who support communists parties think and what rethoric they use. The fact is that this list is almost spot on ! In their mind, capitalists are not eating babies, but they clearly are leeches ! They believe they have the right, in the case they would get to enact their policies, to arbitrarily punish, through various means (exceptionnaly high taxation, large fines, prison ...) people who do not behave like good communists. That is not an over statement. All statist groups think like that to a small extent, but boy, go far enough to the left and the crazy brakes are out of fluid !

On the other hand, the list on the right is a complete strawman ! And the quotes he gives us right after the two lists don't even illustrate his points !

Capitalists are noble Nietzchean heroes
Never heard someone say that. The talking point is more about pointing out that capitalism is the single most effective force  that drive improvement of lives.

Worker activism is evil
No, but the current version is, most of the time. Is it right for unions to negociate on behalf of people who do not want them to ? Is it right for unions to negates the entitlement that labour laws gives to workers ? Is it right for unions to violently take their boss as hostages (seen several times in europe during my life time which is only 32 years) ? Is it right for unions to violently assault workers who desire to work instead of striking ? Or even to merely restrict access to prevent them to go to work ? Fuck it ! A lot of unions are fucking mobs. They often have way too much power. If workers want to associate to have more weight on their OWN negociations, FINE ! But no way I'm accepting that they'd have the right to drag me with them by FORCE ! Wether it is the the force of the law, or the force of their own muscles !

The poor are pampered good-for-nothings
Pffff, no comment ... Yeah you know what, I have a comment : That's very common from liberals to think that the poorest and the worker class are all behind them. Fucking saviour complex. I never earned more than 13k euros a year (17k$ in the best of years, more like 14k$ now), which is minimum wage in France and I still found a way to see through their bullshit. Hell, every fucking election in France reminds everybody that IT IS NOT THE CASE ! But it is always swiftly swept under the proverbial rug !

EDIT : Liberals, go fuck yourselves.

There is SO much here, and I am not knowledgeable of any way to refute some of the arguments made by the writer, but I suspect quote mining when the quote Dilorenzo and Mises, simply because their quotes are short and don't provide any instances that would have led those men to their conclusions. I feel, Shane, even if the article might be old, u should do a video on it or include the article in a future podcast because the biggest objection i see and get from classmates is, "what about the poor." I know enough about the gold standard and the fed and mutual aid societies, and the fact that the poverty rate fell from 90% in 1800 to 14% in circa 1965, and it has stagnated and even risen since the great society.
