It's kinda like "well, okaaaaay..."

On the down side, they admit that it only applies to the top 1% of "mathematical performers", so it should not be used to make projections/assumptions/predictions for the general population.

On the up side, they admit it was differences in choices that resulted in differences in outcomes. As opposed to most "studies" like this that tend to try to hide that... Or worse, try to make it sound as if those choices should not have and effect on outcomes (usually by claiming it's sexist to penalize women for taking an 18 year vacation, for example).
