Thanks to Shane for resetting my password.  Glad to have this account back. :)
For those who don't know what's going on or where I've been, these two journals explain everything in deep detail.

Good to know that's sorted. Sucks about all those other passwords though.

I'll mention this on the podcast so others will know, but this is TNO security. There's no back door or anything else where LastPass can get you in; that would defeat the purpose. Hopefully, though, if you can convince customer support that you lost the email address and you are who you say you are, they'll figure out how to recover a OTP from your previous logins (so DO NOT delete that LastPass cache!)

GOOD!

Well, I *do* remember my master password.  That's not the problem.  It's the grid for multi-layer authentication I have that doesn't work.  If they could maybe roll it back to the previous one (like they can the password if it was changed within 6 months) I could work with that.  As I did NOT throw away that last grid of mine and I won't unless I get told either, "I'm sorry, but we aren't convinced you're the same person" or, "I'm sorry, but there is not a thing we can do to help you."

It's times like this I wish I hadn't set my firefox to clear all my history...I just got a terrible feeling that I should have not have removed my lastpass add on...*gulp* T_T

But like I said, if I can't get my vault back, then I'm leaving LastPass forever and not looking back.  It's just not worth the grief, frustration, stress and anxiety.  I'll just deal with the risk and use Firefox for my passwords like I always have.  Certainly better than Chrome's which you said is insecure with them.
(Though, I admit I *am* having second thoughts of leaving them entirely...if only because, with my luck, I'd have the NSA, etc up my ass for no good reason as soon as I got negative closure (being told there is nothing they can do).  At the very least, I know not to ever delete a recovery e-mail again...or not to use Verizon e-mail sub accounts for this...and to use gmail...yeah, I've learned a lot from this at the very least. X_X).

EDIT:  Okay, so it seems lastpass remembered my e-mail in the field, so that's a good sign I guess? *holds back tears*
Blah, it doesn't help that I'm also trying to grin and bare this crap while dealing with the stress of a VERY big caloric deficit/weight loss.  Yesterday, only 360 Calories, and today, 1220 Calories to make up for the 4090 Calories I had Saturday and Sunday (at least it didn't show up on the scale).

/sigh
Well, speaking of the above, at least I've lost 70 lbs and 10 inches off of my waist if anything else.  So..yeah, silver linings and all.

I'd ask how to get tech literate, but right now It feels like I might as well be a hardgainer missing both testes asking how to get as strong and muscular as Reg Park. :'(
(He had a 500 lb bench press, over 600 lb squat, 300 lb behind the neck press without drugs, any lifting gear, specializing in full body hypertrophy, and while still being lean enough to see his abs.  And weighed 230 lbs in the off season, around 10% bodyfat; again, without drugs.)

YESYESYESYESYEYSEYEYSEYEYSEYEYSEYEYSYESYES!
Okay...So don't ask me how, but the grid actually worked this time...Unbelievable...If I wasn't so tired, I would be crying with joy right now.

OKAY, I tried to disable the grid option in the settings and also change the e-mail.  So I test the e-mail.  It works! Okay.  Hit save those changes and try to login to LastPass...It doesn't disable grid....okay.  Try to recover/disable it using my gmail account.  it works. X3  I now haz my LastPass Vault back for real. :D I'm so happy, I don't even think I can get to sleep until my parents wake up so I can tell them. :')

you're lucky: you got your grid working, and the damage is not physical, and hopefully not financial. overall, a satisfactory outcome, and I'm glad it worked out.

the reason for my silence lately was partly due to crappy on-site interwebz, but mostly due to a car-accident I got into: I hit a sign on the left-hand side of the road after losing control of the car (turning too hard or something else that caused me to be unable to turn back right till it was too late...OK, not disasterously so, but so). going to a bodyshop today, then up to fort Collins. I am NOT missing my meeting there for anything (and and the truck is drivable: my main source of headache (and foul mood) is the heavy-handed bureaucracy involved with getting auto-repairs...seriously, insurance should cover immediately: I shouldn't wait for some shit-head (no, not the adjuster: some other idiot: adjuster's cool so far) who doesn't know me to judge if my car is enough of a wreck to justify auto repairs or a rental. (in case you ask: lost the driver's side mirror, both doorhinges on the same side (clean decapitation though: impressed all who saw it), shattered the front driver's side window (my injury--a minor one--comes from it slamming into my face), and dented in the hood on the left side, as well as pushing in both lights there (putting them out, but not breaking them), and a dented backside door with dented back-post (so I can't raise or lower the read window). All else is perfectly intact (OK, glasses scratched up by glass dust).
Meh

At least you used active voice when describing it!

(Yes, that's a shameless plug! You got a problem with that?)

I've never had to go through that with State Farm. They've ALWAYS been wonderful and easy to deal with. Generally, what I do is just let them find a guy in the area who'll fix it (saves me having to do it anyway) and just going with him, although they do give me the option of having someone else repair it for the same money.

And they even fired Rob Schneider!

nope, though it is funny that the video was released around the time of the accident.

yeah, I have Geico...luckily, they are at least fast: it's all been confirmed, so I'm set. had my meeting yesterday (am in the fort) , and man is the shopping list for graduate schools grown: went from three or four to over a dozen. this with the money from work (this assignment is a milk-cow :D) means God-willing I'll have the funds to apply to all of them. I'm starting to write to all relevant professors.
