This Week's Quote: "Journalganda...it looks like news! But it isn't. It's propaganda...There's nothing like journalganda to make you feel absolutely certain you are correct, no matter what your position...Real journalism can always be identified by the way it makes normal people sometimes feel very uncomfortable about the world." —Charles M. Madigan

One more reason I refuse to watch the news.  Better a head that's empty than one that's full of shit.

Great show, everyone. :)  Glad to know what happened from folks who know what they're talking about. :)
"When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world—'No. You move.'"
-Captain America, Amazing Spider-Man 537

I'm just gonna casually point out that the Bogosity podcast is available for listen on our website.

Shill all day every day.

You're just so shilly...

This is something that has always bothered me about the anti-fun crowd--whether it be fundies or feminists--even IF what they say is true about our favorite source of fun being not nice.  Who gives a shit?  It's not harming anyone, so STFU.  If they don't like it, don't participate in it.  Savvy?

@Entire podcast, especially the bit Dave said at the ending:  "STANDING OVATION with whistling!*  Well said everyone. :) First podcast on this site I've listened to in AGES.  It was good to hear something so close to my heart and to my lifelong hobby of 20 years (I'm 26 btw).

Are all the images of Laura from the box art?  I haven't played any of the games in a long time, but her breasts weren't that round in the first game, only on the box.  (She had a quite low poly count in the first game, and they tended to put them on bits that moved.)

I found this screenshot from the first Tomb Raider. Yeah, it's definitely a poly count thing:

Dave, you're the one who made the claim about female gamers, so perhaps you should respond to these:

Quote from: MinerVerseWomen are the majority of gamers if you count people who play Farmville or FreeCell. The term "gamer" is not appropriate to use for someone who plays this kind of game. In the same way that a comic geek is not the same as someone who reads Calvin & Hobbes or Dilbert.

Quote from: kokofan50I don't like calling a bunch of middle aged women who play candycrush gamers. They take no interest in the gaming continuity, nor do they care about games other than the cute little apps they can buy on their phone. That's not to say they should be ignored or disparaged, but simply I don't think the title gamer is the apt word for that group.

Yeah, those comments are just the comments of elitist pricks who don't like casual gamers being a part of their precious club.

Here's a source by the way on that claim:

Added to the show notes. Thanks!

Not to mention normal maps weren't in use.

I'd forgotten how nasty the graphics were back then.

I see now why Angelina Jolie was cast as Laura croft...
Meh

There's NOTHING wrong with Angelina Jolie's poly count!
