Watching subtitled anime, if the subtitles are good as opposed to what would have been put on a dub if there had been more money available.

Sometimes it's cute, sometimes it's funny, and sometimes it goes all the way into creepy.  Sailor Moon, for instance, does all three.  (Seriously, it's made very, VERY clear that when Usagi starts chasing after Mamoru, who's in university and has his own car and apartment, she's no older than twelve, which is creepy no matter who starts it.  The supposedly native English speaker heard in one episode is absolutely hilarious, anyone who actually does speak English will realize the voice actor didn't speak English at all and was only attempting phonetic pronunciation and so getting the individual sounds right, but everything about how they go together wrong.  As it's about five teenage girls, and sometimes includes one's daughter from the future, the degree of cute just goes right off the scale at times.)

I'd much rather have subtitles on a foreign film than a dub. It's no pain to me to read subtitles, but I like getting all of the vocal pitches and inflections that the original actors used. It also helps fill in some of the context and connotations that get lost in translation.

I'd NEVER want to see an English dub of Das Boot or Downfall!

Japanese films have a particular issue because there tend to be a lot more syllables in the original Japanese than what is necessary to say it in English, so there's a lot of things like, "Yes, I will do that, because you have asked me to do that, so I will do that, so it will be done!" Mojo Jojo on Powerpuff Girls is a parody of this.

Same with me. If I was watching seven samurais I would prefer the original language with subtitles.

I couldn't find any yucatec but I did find European Spanish. That is accurate for the two main characters since they are from Spain afterall

Indeed! One thing I liked about Tora! Tora! Tora! was that the British and Americans spoke English, the Germans spoke German, the Japanese spoke Japanese...

I watched prince of egypt when I was a kid. I watched it again when I was older and I got curious if they made the songs in any other languages so I decide to look at the songs in various languages including hebrew. Note: It was in modern hebrew not biblical or ancient hebrew. Example bellow. DO NOT WATCH IF YOU DON' T LIKE SPOILERS.

The singer in this vid has an absolutely beautiful voice, at least in my opinion not to mention it is proper since it does take place in france.

also there is Anastasia in russian. Again a beautiful singing voice in my opinion
