CNN's Don Lemon Asks Whether A 'Black Hole' Swallowed Malaysian Plane (VIDEO)

QuoteWe already know that CNN anchor Don Lemon leaves no "preposterous" conspiracy theory unexamined.

But when Lemon Twitter-sourced questions about the missing Malaysian Airlines plane again on Wednesday night he went another step beyond Sunday's "supernatural" event theory: he and his panel discussed the possibility of a "black hole" swallowing the jetliner.

He read out tweets that compared the mystery to "Lost" and "The Twilight Zone" before asking Mary Schiavo, a former U.S. Department of Transportation inspector general, to weigh in on the black hole theory.

"That's what people are saying," Lemon said. "I know it's preposterous — but is it preposterous you think, Mary?"

"Well, it is. A small black hole would suck in our entire universe so we know it's not that," Schiavo said. "The Bermuda Triangle is often weather. And 'Lost' is a TV show. So I think -- I always like things for which there's data history, crunch the numbers. So for me those aren't there."

"But I think it's wonderful that the whole world is trying to help with their theories and I absolutely love their theories," she added.

For a minute there, I thought I was watching Alex Jones. No wonder less people are taking the mainstream media seriously!

No Sovereign but God. No King but Jesus. No Princess but Celestia.

I think the Idiot Extraordinaire should go to Mary Schiavo for that little gem:
"...a small black hole would suck in our entire universe."

Seriously ma'am a layman's understanding of astrophysics says that's bogus.
Working every day to expose the terrible price we pay for government.

that's an understatement. by her logic, the universe ended when super-massive black-holes formed in the centers of every galaxy.

frankly, Don Lemon doesn't really deserve this award--not for this anyways: he himself practically dismissed the idea as preposterous, so he's not a real problem (though I must question the need to even bring up this). And frankly, there are way dumber/more scumbag things done recently than what Lemon did here.

the whole episode does underline a huge problem: people don't understand black holes. that the idea was suggested in the first place is evidence of it:

1-black holes of a size that doesn't fuck up the planet would be unstable: they simply evaporate away before any damage can be done.
2-black holes that are stable would have destroyed the Earth, and the most common types would in fact completely re-arrange the solar system as well (since the minimum size of a stellar black hole is 3 solar masses)
3-black holes aren't vacuum cleaners: they don't suddenly have greater gravity than any other object of its mass at typical planetary distances: if a hypothetical black hole of 1 solar mass were placed in the barycenter of our solar system instead of the sun, no planets would fall into the event horizon: they'd simply continue to revolve round the hole as before.
Meh

Yeah, that's already on the list. We'll go in to how black holes work.

So then megas xlr was telling the truth when mole man parody escaped a quantum singularity?
