Damnit, cracked.com this didn't answer my question.  And I suspect it's also exaggerated as many "INDUSTRY HORREHS!" tend to be.

Does Dark Chocolate really have health benefits or is it a load of bitter-sweet bullshit?

According to webmd, it does under certain conditions- like you've reached mid-life, and have mild hypertension. Other than that, chocolate is chocolate is chocolate. So, if your health concern is your weight, than no.

I say it is, because dark chocolate is one of the most awesomest things on the planet and I WANT to believe it's good for me!

@Dallen:  Thanks. :)  And yeah, sounds like it's not the magic many make it out to be, but can have some benefit in the right situation.

@Shane:  Not sure if you're being funny/silly/sarcastic, but it sounds like it. :P

I like the bittersweet taste I'll give it that.

I really hope it was obvious that was tongue-in-cheek.

I thought it might be, but wanted to be sure, as I was asking a serious/honest question. ^^;  I can live without chocolate or at least live without the idea of it being healthy, I just wanted to know for sure. n.n  Fruit is pretty good at satisfying a sweet tooth I find.  And if worst comes to worst so does the occasional measured/controlled amount of Nutella spread on a banana.  Yeah, with the exception of the banana it's not that healthy, but at least by measuring it out (and eating some fruit too), I'm at least controlling the amount of damage I'm doing.
