List of School Massacre in the US

Using the FBI definition of mass murder, which is 4+ fatalities with no cool off period. I made a list comparing the frequency of School Massacres in the United States. I started from the 1970s and made a decade by decade comparison. Note: This only include the shootings not nothing else. I will try to make a more in depth stat later.

# of School Massacres during the 70s = THREE (one of them was done by the authorities)

# of School Massacres during the 80s-= ONE

# of School Massacres during the 90s= FOUR

# of School Massacres during the 2000s= FIVE

If we do a two decade by two decade comparison. We see that during the 1970s-1980s there were FOUR mass shootings totals. When the gun laws became stricter the number of mass shootings through out the 1990s-2000s jumped to NINE. And one of the shootings in the 1970s include the Kent State Incident, which alot of gun control advocates (wrongly) don't count as a massacre. That means the number of shootings TRIPLED.

So as we can see that the school shootings have gone up. But one can not blame this on gun control, because the gun laws in the 1970s -1980s were far more lenient in some ways. Example Fully Automatic Weapons were more widely available for sale than now as a result of the NFA act 1986.
