Reasons why battered spouses stay with their abusers.

I'm making a list of reasons why people stay in abusive relationships.

1. Financial dependency

This is one of the biggest reasons if not the biggest reason why the abused spouse stay with their abusers. Since abusers control much of what they do they are stopped from getting jobs etc.

2. Isolation

They feel that they are alone and there is no one to help or any way to reach them.

Guilt, they think it's their fault their spouse is acting in such a manner.
Or maybe the believe that they can change them.
