DSP talking about it.

So, I guess I won't be seeing many more MMOx plays skyrim or skyrim mods of the week.  :'(

No more Mod of the weak! IT IS ON!

I honestly have no simpathy for DSP.

You know, I think it would be a different thing if the companies themselves were doing a DMCA on the videos. Then you could argue with them about fair use. For Google to use some kind of content matching software to automatically, is, well bogus. First (and foremost) in my mind, is some of the copyright owners ENCOURAGE players to make derivative works.

So yeah, companies are illegally claiming stuff that isn't theirs.

The only way to fix it is to repeal the DMCA. Guess how likely THAT is to happen...

Yea but the funny thing about this whole mess is that so many people are like get a real job then none of this would happen Laws ugh. Why are people so pig headed to say that I mean if people are paying you to do a service then its a job plain and simple

If anything will kill YouTube it's this copyright bullshit like the DMCA, et al.  IIRC, it's not even YouTube's fault.  The law says that YouTube can be held liable, hence why they're bending like this.

FAIL: you block a user and he can STILL post; you just can't see his posts (but everyone else can!).

This seems related...

I had an argument about roads with one mouthpiece200. Rather than debate, mouthpiece (or someone who agrees with him) decided to flag or mark my messages. Surprisingly, this led to my messages getting blocked or removed, even though the video the comments are on belong to another user entirely (HowTheWorldWorks), whom mouthpiece was speaking out against.

Thinking about this for a bit, I can't seem to recall being able to view a down-voted or spam-marked message since the overhaul. It seems like these messages are blocked or removed altogether, or at the very least, I haven't yet found a way to view them yet. If someone has information to the contrary, I'd love to hear it; otherwise, this is a huge, all-caps FAIL for YouTube.
Failing to clean up my own mistakes since the early 80s.

It gets dumber.

Is anyone else noting on their channels a LOT fewer comments relative to view count since the change?

It seems I am not alone in flatly refusing to use the new comments system.

Good: We can view all comments marked as spam across all videos, and unmark them if they aren't really spam.

Bad: There's no way to unmark comments made before the changeover.

What about downthumbed comments?  Is it just me or are they disappearing?

I have no idea. Sometimes I don't even see an option to downthumb; just +1.
