QuotePresident Obama repeatedly assured Americans that after the Affordable Care Act became law, people who liked their health insurance would be able to keep it. But millions of Americans are getting or are about to get cancellation letters for their health insurance under Obamacare, say experts, and the Obama administration has known that for at least three years.

"But no!" cried the Obamatons! "If you like your health plan you can keep it!  This will just add some competition to the healthcare market!"
"When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world—'No. You move.'"
-Captain America, Amazing Spider-Man 537

And by "competition," they really mean "raise the ivory-tower standard and force it on people who don't want or need it."

Which is why businesses have started dropping health care plans for employees, myself included.

EDIT: Broken Link. Better get another fairy.

The link works fine for me...

Is anyone really  surprised by this?
No.  Obamatons still likely deny it, while those of us who used our brains saw it coming from the get go.

BTW, a quick rule of thumb for figuring out the effects of a law/policy/etc--just take the name and reverse its meaning.  So the most probable effects of the "Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare)" will be to make healthcare even MORE unaffordable.  Hell, Stefan and Jacob Spinney went into the details of the effects years ago in videos they posted on youtube.

I'd prefer the one from the Quake games: just pick up a pack and you're instantly healed!

What's funny is most people use this as an example of socialist healthcare, but what kills me is that they seem to forget that the Pokemon games have little to no government of any kind. Most towns and cities in the game don't even have a mayor or any kind of police force, let alone some massive central government. Then again, with almost everyone having Pokemon on them to defend themselves, they seem kind of unnecessary.

The police seem non-existent and/or useless considering the amount if organizations are stopped by kids. Looker even admitted he was to weak to stop cyrus.

You know, if Obama, and that Sibelius person were really sorry, they'd fall on their swords....literally, not figuratively like CNN used.
Meh

This is getting a bit off-topic, but in the Pokemon world, people spend more money on Pokemon than their own basic needs, to the point that poor PCs never have to worry about buying their own food. I'm convinced that the world of Pokemon is a post-scarcity society, where many of the normal rules of economics simply do not apply.

It's also fiction, so...

Ooh, how about the Dungeons and Dragons system where you can pay the local priest to heal you?  Because they actually answer to a real god, they can't play political games or else they'd lose their powers.
I recently heard that the word heretic is derived from the greek work heriticos which means "able to choose"
The more you know...

Actually, I really like the Elder Scrolls system. Just take a good nap and you'll be as good as new.
