It appears they're trying  to use the Prize as a means to shore up the crumbling institutions they like.  Never mind that it doesn't work.

and of course, since I forgot this: it really does the prize no credit to line up assholes like Obama, the EU, or TR (or any other asshole on the list), with real people of peace, like that one Burmese lady (did she even win one?), or Schweitzer.

And that doesn't even consider those who do deserve it, but never got it.
