In Canada, there's a special tax on blank CDs and similar media that's supposedly to pay artists for the monies they don't get from copied music.  Of course, the entity to which this money eventually gets pair uses it to fund anti-piracy campaigns instead of pay artists.

Its unfortunate that there are too many anti-science candidates in the so called "liberty" movement as well, atleast in the South. I've refused to be associated with several groups because they're filled with anti-vaccers (as in they want to make vaccines illegal) or creationists.
