Although, I personally hope that it turns out to NOT be the Higgs after all.  That would mean something completely unexpected has turned up, which would be far more interesting.

From reading about it, it looks like there's a LOT about it that's unexpected! And this is what was hoping for: not to simply tie up the Standard Model with a neat bow, but to find surprising aspects of the Higgs boson that would lead them to unlock deeper mysteries.
