Sorry but Mitt hasn't even earned lesser of two evils status.

QuoteRepublican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky endorsed Mitt Romney for president Thursday night, but he made clear he'd prefer someone else.

"My first choice had always been my father. I campaigned for him when I was 11-years-old. He's still my first pick," the tea party favorite told Fox News' Sean Hannity. "But now that the nominating process is over, tonight I'm happy to announce that I'm going to be supporting Gov. Mitt Romney."

Paul's father, Texas congressman Ron Paul, suspended his active campaign operation last month, but is still pursuing delegates so he can have an influence at the GOP nominating convention in August.

Paul noted in the Fox interview that Romney's father, George, also fell short in a presidential bid in 1968.

Romney said in a statement on his campaign website that he was "honored" by the endorsement and called Rand Paul "a leading voice in the effort to scale back the size and reach of government and promote liberty."

And this is why Republicans who claim to be small government should never be taken seriously.

It still won't deter the Paulities from crowning him in 2016, assuming one doesn't accidentally start the zombie apocalypse by trying to revive Ron's dead body first.

frankly, I think they should crown Gary Johnson, or Lee Wrights, or something.

both frankly have greater libertarian credentials than Dr. Paul (EDIT: Ron Paul)--as great as his are.

finally, what the hell is the matter with Rand Paul? what happened to filial piety here? damn it, he should endorse his Dad, no matter that he is unlikely to win. (exceptions given to when the father has immoral policies, but as this isn't a problem here...)
Meh

A little bit part of the cult of Paul, but still funny.

I'm actually more enthusiastic about voting for Gary Johnson now because we are well past the time that the Liberty movement should be defined as one persons followers.

Jack Hunter, alleged liberty loving individual, gives his reasons why Rand Paul supporting Mitt Romney is a good thing.

Again, party politics never ceases.

What's hilarious is some of the people defending Rand for supporting Romney are the same people who condemned Wayne Allen Root for doing the exact same thing.

Well at least Rand isn't on the Executive Committee of a different party.

True.
