I wonder if Johnson's aggressive promotion of the FairTax and wanting the government money for a 2016 run are beginning to be a backlash against him?

Who knows? His rep at the NC convention when questioned on it--while understandably reluctant to put too many words into Johnson's mouth--implied that he was softening his stance on the issue. Johnson is very open to talking with Libertarians, and maybe he can be convinced by the convention.

I mean, if we can convince Bob Barr to turn against DOMA...

My only concern is that he softens on the issues in the lead up to convention to appease the Radicals, and then if he does manage to get into a national debate he goes right back to the Gary Johnson/FairTax drinking game.

I never got the whole hoopla over the FairTax. It's better than what we have now, but it didn't seem so Earth shattering that I would bring it up in debates or pretend it is the only rational way to organize our tax structure.

The Neal Boortz sheep love it, that is why it has as much traction as it does
