Actually, IIRC, SWtOR doesn't have gay relationships, at least at this time. There's a rumor that they'll come in a later patch, but I don't know if that'll work considering how Lucas hasn't exactly been supportive of having gay/lesbian/bisexual characters in Star Wars.

Yeah, as far as I know, the closest you can get is the ability to use commands like /flirt /seduce etc across genders, but those are usually just in-game character motions that have little to do with the actual game. Then again, this is Bioware, so it's not too far out of line to guess that there might be some pressure on their part to add the option in. I mean, look at the Dragon Age series and the original Mass Effect. I'm willing to bet that any pressure to keep those options out is coming from either EA, Lucasarts, or both.

I'm not particularly thrilled over Paul either, but private medicine=/=more expensive care or less coverage. it just means it's not run or manipulated by the government at all-which you have to admit sucks at even helping those in "dire straits" with its current programs (e.g. medicaid).

besides, we can potentially solve these problems w/o Govco being involved at all: if we can make computers relatively cheaper and FAR better, we can make healthcare that way too-we aren't stupid.

What makes you think that health care would be cheaper if there was no government intervention? Keep in mind that private insurance companies are in it strictly for the profit, they are not there to make sure you get proper treatment! Under a system with NO Oversight, private insurance companies will be given more incentive to act anyway they wish! That means denying coverage to whomever they feel like it!

resisting the urge to call him a childish simpleton/complete idiot, here was my reply (in three parts):

who says? one can argue a company would want it to be available to more people, since they can make a profit. think about it: if you owned a company like this in this environment, and you jacked up prices and denied coverage at will. would people go to you in helpless despair anyways? no, because you'd drive away the customers to whatever rival it is who is more reasonable. people might even come up with a new, better system than insurance based coverage, superseding insurance co. for example, people can create mutual aid societies, to pool resources locally, found charity hospitals that don't require insurance to get cheap health care, and so on. bear in mind, I'm not saying "no oversight", I'm saying "no (federal) government oversight". you as a customer can act as oversight, and you can even found companies which are the healthcare equivalents of UL (look it up) to inspect medicine quality and quality of insurance coverages.

so in short: the very fact that these companies would want to make a profit in this freer system would force them to be more reasonable, and provide good quality coverage. It's counter-intuitive, I know, but we see similar things with the electronics industry, and the computer industry. we have FAR better products nowadays, for a lower price (inflation adjusted)

Wouldn't be the first time there was some gay content (albeit somewhat hidden) in this series.  One of the KoToR games had a possibility for a female lightsider to get a subtle approach from a female NPC (who was designed much more ugly than needed for no apparent reason and had a Russian accent to boot, but I digress).
