Urban renewal through taxpayer dollars is always a favorite of big governments and Littlepage goes through the usual BS. Nevermind that since the mid 90's the city of Jacksonville has spent over $500 million in taxpayer money in supposed "Downtown" development. That doesn't include losing $4 million a year on the skyway and other subsidies. Also, the fact that downtown is filled with homeless who defecate in the streets.

A quick run threw of taxpayer funded downtown development in Jacksonville

Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena - $130 million

Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville - $34 million

New Main Library - $95 million

Duval County Courthouse - $300 million (You could make an entire podcast about this bogosity, but my favorite was how the construction contract went to a company owned by the mayor's brother and the price went from $190 million to $400 million)

Jacksonville Landing -$20 million
